OLD BUSINESS

BARC Golf Tournament:  The people at BARC were a little disorganized (this was their first golf tournament), but we did help.  Some members walked dogs (available for adoption), sold raffle tickets, helped set things up and kept score at the “closest to the hole” putting green.  It was a challenge to keep the noise level to a low roar, but the Parrot Heads were successful.  We were able to donate 50 hours and $100 to BARC.   PHINS UP!!!

NEW BUSINESS

·      The Biloxi Club canoe trip is scheduled for June 27th.

·      Trop Rock the Bay:  Scheduled for October 1-3, 2009 in Fairhope.  To register, go to www.troprockthebay.com .  The entertainment line-up includes John Reno (the instigator of this phun event), Brent Burns, Jim Morris, Sunny Jim and others.  Registration and hotel information is available on the website.

·      The members present voted to go on the May 15, 2010 cruise (two dates were tied in the on-line voting).  This is a 7-day cruise out of Mobile.  Stops will be made in Montego Bay, The Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico.  Funny that there is a Margaritaville in every port.  So far, about 20 members have signed up.  To join this phun event, contact Vanessa Moyse with Carnival Cruise Lines (1-800-819-3902, ext 85222).  Be sure and tell her you are with the Lower Alabama Parrot Heads.  For all those going, make sure you have your passport – the rules have changed.

·      PHiP – An interim report is due by the end of July.  Kim Dahlgren will complete this.

STARS FELL ON ALABAMA

·      Nominations for the STARS 2010 charities were made.  They are BARC, The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and the Volunteer Fire Departments of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.  These will be voted on at the next meeting.

·      The entertainment for STARS 2010 has been determined.  They include Brent Burns and our own, John Reno.  Below is a complete line-up – sounds like a good one.
