OLD BUSINESS
STARS 2009:  The final numbers for STARS 2009 are still being tallied.  But, the total proceeds, after all expenses were paid, amounted to over $10,000.  This money will be distributed among the four sponsoring clubs to give to their various charity organizations.  Thank you cards were passed out to attending members who donated to the event (cheats the Post Office out of 42 cents).  Thank you cards for all vendors who contributed to this event are almost complete and will be mailed by the end of the week.
Cycling the Coast for a Cure:   Thank you to everyone who helped out with this event.  It was phun.  Kaiser Realty recognized the club on the back of the t-shirt and in an article in the Mullet Wrapper.  As noted in the Treasurer’s Report, we sponsored Ridge Martin for $100.  Kaiser Realty raised over $3,000 for a great cause.
Boat Trip:  Still working on a possible club boat trip – should it ever warm up enough to go.

NEW BUSINESS:
Coastal Conservation Beach Party:   Tickets will be available at the door for this event being held tonight (4/11) at the Orange Beach Community Center.  Cosmo’s is catering the meal and our own John Reno is the night’s entertainment.
MS Boarder Bash: This event will be held on May 2 and May 3.  Normally, the MS Bike Tour has been in September, but this year it has been moved.   The members present voted to man the water station as requested by the coordinators.  We will get to decorate the provided tent and play the music we like (Barry Manilow anyone??).  We will not give out leis this year, since we don’t want them to get tangled in the bike.   The riders will leave the Wharf at 7 AM and it should wrap up around 3 PM.  Since we are manning a water station, another e-mail will be forthcoming with the time and location.  The Coastal Alabama Parrot Heads will be asked to assist this year, just as last year.  A Team Effort!!!

Dog Gone Scramble:   BARC is sponsoring this event at Craft Farms on June 5th and has asked for our help.  Our responsibilities have yet to be determined.   But whatever we do, we will do well.  More details to follow.  If anyone wishes to participate in the tournament, please let Kim D. know and the details will be forwarded.
STARS 2010:  registration will open to the sponsoring clubs by mid June.  Do not delay, this event fills up fast.  The Stars board will hold its last (for 2009) and first meeting (for 2010) on Sunday, April 19th.  Any members are welcome to attend.
Web Site:  “Web Dude”, Cy Myers, our amazing web master, has requested all members please complete an information sheet (passed out during the meeting) to allow him to update our member’s only section on the web site.  You will also be asked to give him a password to have entry into the member’s only area of our site.  This information sheet will be sent out under a separate cover for those unable to attend.
Cruise: Dave and Jackie Grear discussed a possible parrot head cruise leaving from Mobile.  Various dates and the cost will be emailed separately to all members for voting purposes.  Once the date is established, we are considering inviting the other clubs in our area to go along with us.  Please take the time to vote on which date would work best for you if you are thinking of going.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
John Reno spoke regarding the first annual “ TROP ROCK THE BAY’ event scheduled for October 1-3rd.   The event will be held in various venues in and around Fairhope.  There will also be a 72’ schooner that will be running some cruises.   The list of entertainers include:  John Reno, Brent Burns, Sunny Jim White, Jim Morris …a great lineup and a great party for all.  More details as they become available.
Kim adjourned the meeting at approximately: 12:35 PM.  The raffle (Fruitcake) basket donated by Tyler Dahlgren, was won (RELUCTANTLY) by Cy & Kay Myers.  Special raffle tickets for T-Shirt grab bags were won by:  New member Ellen Murphy (2 T-Shirts), David Curran …….aka Frankie and Younnie Veal.   Congratulations to all winners.

The next meeting will on May 9th, at Lulu’s at 11:15 AM.  See ya there!!!!
