Charity Balance (included in above figures):  $50.50

The Charity Balance will be held until the total amount reaches $100.  At which time, the money will be distributed to charity.

Shrimp Festival:  No reply from the letter sent regarding our bad experiences as volunteers.  Letters were sent to several officials including the new president of the Chamber.

Jimmy Buffett and Friends:  The concert is scheduled for tomorrow, July 11.  Finally!  VIP wristbands were distributed to club members with tickets with the expectation that general admission paper tickets would be given to locals for them to enjoy the concert.  These VIP wristbands only allowed us into an area – stage left.  They did not give us ‘seats” or “food”.  Some of the stories about that received the paper tickets are just heart warming.  Some “dos” and ‘don’ts” and parking were discussed, but no one really knows until the concert.

Coastal Cleanup:  Mark your calendars – this event is scheduled for September 18.  It is still unknown if this event will still happen due to the oil spill, but keep that date anyway.

MS Bike Tour:  Again – Mark your calendars – this event is scheduled for September 18/19.  We have a busy September.  E-mail has been send to the director of the MS Bike Tour explaining the conflict with the Coastal Cleanup.

Condolences to Cookie and Gerald Ogden:  Cookie has recently lost her father.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to both of you.

Stars Fell On Alabama: Get those registrations in!!!  Island House is SOLD OUT!!  There are less than 100 spaces available.  Some registrations were submitted at the meeting and delivered on July 17th to MotherHen.

The band meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 17th.

Charity Suggestions:  Jim Trest submitted the South Baldwin Literacy Council as a potential charity.  Hurricane Jane has talked with the Ecumenical Ministries about future donations.  They are down due to the oil spill.

Troy Allen:  A benefit is scheduled for Troy Allen at Fly Creek Marina on July 10th.  It is sponsored by the Coastal Alabama Parrot Heads.  Troy Allen is a musician known within the Parrot Head circle who has been fighting cancer.  As per his web site, he is now cancer free.

Pop Tops:  Keep saving those pop-tops.  The Ronald McDonald House uses these to help support their efforts.  The pop-top is worth more that then whole can.

T-Shirts:  Several members purchased t-shirts for the upcoming concert.  This has brought our supply to a minimum.  It was voted to go ahead and place an order for additional shirts.

Raffle:  The raffle this month was generously provided by Jane Veillon and won by Debbie Noojin.  A total of $136 was collected – I think that is a record!!!  Thank you for being such a generous group.  (Camille Warren wanted to give the proper credit to PK Kraak for the previous basket since Kim got it mixed up – so thank you PK.)
